Pistes-Solidaires was partner in a project named “Human Library: the rest is History”. This project was co-funded by the European program “Europe for citizens”.

The main objective of this project was to work on the active remembrance of war periods that have taken place in Europe. This project was developed through an innovative method we called the “Human library”: books became people who could tell their story directly to the others.

Pistes-Solidaires chose to work on this project with young people from a community arts centre and a youth club in order to give an intergenerational dimension to the project.

Working together as a group the young people conducted interviews of people who had experienced the war or who were experts and then edited together the footage.

A highly engaging public event, presenting the outcomes of this project then took place on May 3rd 2014 in the form of a human library.
