I recently started a programme volunteering to teach english to kids at a french primary school. I have been doing it for over a month now every Monday and Thursday for about 3 hours, 1 hour at the school and the other 2 hours preparing the class. It has been a really fun experience especially with Anaïs showing me how everything works and how to teach the kids. I feel the kids have learnt a lot and most of them really seem to enjoy it. So far we have taught them about the human body, family, fruit, colours, sports. I have definitely gained more confidence teaching and being the leader even with kids who can hardly understand what I’m saying. Every week I gain more and more skills and learn new things. As the weeks went on the kids became more confident with me and started opening up and wanting to learn more english. We usually already have a set activity and then come up with ideas to change it and make it better. I have had a great time being involved with this programme its been a lot of fun and taught be a lot i will hopefully come back one day when I’m older and be involved in the programme again.
